Ingredients

7-9 Soya Chunks, soaked in water (5-10 minutes)
2 Onions, roughly chopped
1 small size Potato, chopped
1 1/2 Tomato, finely chopped
1 tbsp cumin seeds
2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
2-3 tbsp olive oil / any oil
1/2 cup Basmati rice, soaked
as per taste Salt
1 tsp Kitchen king masala
1/2-1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
Pinch Asafoetida/hing
1-2 bay leaves
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat 1 or 2 tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add some chopped onions and sauté them till they turn translucent in colour.
Step 2
Then add chopped tomatoes and potatoes. Add some salt (as per taste) and soaked soya chunks also. Mix them well. Note - Sprinkle some water if the mixture gets dry.
Step 3
Add all the masalas, soaked rice. and some water. Now cover it and let the rice cook. (Atleast 2 whistles)
Step 4
Once done, turn off the flame. Transfer the rice to the serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with raita or curd.
