Why Mushroom Pulao?

Ingredients (Serves 2 | Prep time: 15-20 minutes)
½ glass basmati rice
7-8 mushrooms, chopped
2 onions, chopped
4-5 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
½ inch ginger, grated
4-5 beans, chopped
5-6 cauliflower florets
1½ tbsp coriander powder
2 tsp turmeric powder
½ tbsp garam masala
1 tbsp kitchen king
1 tbsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
½ tsp black pepper powder
2 tbsp oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash and soak the basmati rice in water before starting to cook.
Step 2
Heat butter or ghee in a pan and add in the clove, cardamom and cinnamon stick. Add in the sliced onions and saute till the onions are nice and brown.
Step 3
Grind the garlic, ginger and black pepper with little water to a smooth paste. Set aside. Or you can also sauté some roughly chopped garlic.
Step 4
Add in the ground paste and salt and fry for 5-6 minutes till the mixture is very dry.
Step 5
Add in the italian seasoning, mushrooms, other veggies. Saute for 5-7 minutes, till they become translucent.
Add Turmeric, garam masala, red chilli and coriander powder, mix it well.
Step 6
Add in the drained rice and water,
Cover with the lid and cook it for about 15 minutes on low flame.
Step 7
Open the lid after 20 minutes and fluff up the rice. Serve it hot garnished with Coriander/Cilantro and Mint Leaves. You can serve any kind of Raita and mango pickle.
