Mushroom Pulao: A Flavorful and Nutritious Rice Dish

  1. 1/2 glass Basmati rice

  2. 7-8 Mushrooms, chopped

  3. 2 Onions, chopped

  4. 4-5 Garlic Cloves, roughly chopped

  5. 1/2 Ginger, grated

  6. 4-5 Beans, Chopped

  7. 5-6 Cauliflower florets

  8. 1 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder

  9. 2 tsp Turmeric powder

  10. 1/2 tbsp Garam masala

  11. 1 tbsp Kitchen king

  12. 1 tbsp Red chilli powder

  13. to taste Salt

  14. 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder

  15. 2 tbsp Oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash and soak the basmati rice in water before starting to cook.

Step 2

Heat butter or ghee in a pan and add in the clove, cardamom and cinnamon stick. Add in the sliced onions and saute till the onions are nice and brown.

Step 3

Grind the garlic, ginger and black pepper with little water to a smooth paste. Set aside. Or you can also sauté some roughly chopped garlic.

Step 4

Add in the ground paste and salt and fry for 5-6 minutes till the mixture is very dry.

Step 5

Add in the italian seasoning, mushrooms, other veggies. Saute for 5-7 minutes, till they become translucent. Add Turmeric, garam masala, red chilli and coriander powder, mix it well.

Step 6

Add in the drained rice and water, Cover with the lid and cook it for about 15 minutes on low flame.

Step 7

Open the lid after 20 minutes and fluff up the rice. Serve it hot garnished with Coriander/Cilantro and Mint Leaves. You can serve any kind of Raita and mango pickle.
