Chatpate Chole: A Spicy and Delicious Dry Chana Masala



Ingredients

  1. 1 cup Chole, soaked and boiled

  2. 2 onions, chopped

  3. 2 Tomatoes, grated or paste

  4. 1-2 tsp Ginger garlic paste

  5. 1-2 tsp Green chillies

  6. 1-2 tbsp Coriander powder

  7. 1 tsp Garam Masala

  8. 1-2 tsp Red chilli powder

  9. 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder

  10. 1 tsp Dry ginger powder (optional)

  11. 1/2 tsp MDH kitchen king (optional)

  12. 2 tbsp Oil

  13. 1 tbsp Cumin seeds

  14. Pinch Hing / asafoetida

  15. As per taste Salt

  16. 1-2 Bay leaves

  17. Dash fresh lime juice

  18. Handful Fresh Coriander leaves (chopped)

  19. 1 tbsp Crushed Kasoori methi

  20. 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala

  21. 1/2 tsp Anaardana powder

  22. As required Water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Heat oil in Kadhai, add cumin seeds, Hing, chopped onions and bay leaves.


Step 2

Add green chillies, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Stir.


Step 3

Add dry ginger powder, kitchen king, coriander powder, garam masala, black pepper. Mix well.


Step 4

Now add tomato paste, ginger garlic paste and salt (as per your taste).


Step 5

Add chaat masala, sprinkle some water. Mix well.


Step 6

Now add soaked & boiled Chole, Anaardana powder. Mix well.


Step 7

Now add chopped onions, tomatoes, fresh lime juice (as per your taste) and MiX.


Step 8

Sprinkle some more onions and tomatoes. Serve hot with Kulche, Poori or Parat Parantha.
